Avoid Commercially Made Pet Treats

In light of all the recent (not that we didn’t know it was coming) dog treat recalls, we wanted to share a super easy do-it-yourself recipe you could easily make at home.

What could possibly be safer than knowing exactly what is going into your dog’s treats? Ozzy gets nothing but homemade dog treats now and he seems incredibly pleased with it as he thinks he’s getting people food. 🙂

This recipe is so easy it includes only TWO ingredients and a short bake time.

Ingredients:

2 cups flour (Your choice of what kind)

2 jars baby food (4 oz. jars.) In this case we used sweet potato but banana has been done as well.

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 335 degrees.

2. Pour baby food into mixing bowl.

3. Add 2 cups of flour and mix well.

4. Sprinkle flour on tray.

5. Grease cookie sheet.

6. Flatten dough and cut out shapes. (Does not expand very much when cooking.)

7. Bake for 22 minutes.

8. Let cool.
